The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman
A girl named Lyra goes on a quest to save her uncle and the lives of many people while overcoming her
fears, bonding with friends, learning truth and discovering treachery. This book is better than most books I've read and I would recommend it because it is exciting, adventurous and
suspenseful.

Screwball by David Ferrell
Ron Kane is the new pitcher for the Red Sox, but wherever the team goes there are murders.
The new pitcher may be responsible and the Red Sox club president and the manager keep their suspicions a secret. I absolutely loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone interested in a very suspenseful book.

Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli
Jeffrey is a boy who has no family of his own and has lived with many families.
At every house he has stayed at he amazed the family members by performing stunts. I would recommend this book because I think there were many different moods in the book and I feel that I really got to know the main character.
