Introduction to Computers Using a hands-on approach, this workshop will cover basic features of personal computing. Including: how to use the mouse, identifying the parts of a computer, how to use basic Windows and toolbar functions. This session is for the computer novice. No Experience Required.

Word – the Basics (Part I) Using a hands-on approach, this workshop will introduce users to basic features of Microsoft Word. Including how to edit text, change fonts, sizes and styles, how to cut, copy and paste items in a document, use the spelling and grammar checker, how to name and save a document to a disk. You should be comfortable using the mouse to attend this session. Working Knowledge of Basic Windows Functions IS REQUIRED.

Word – the Basics (Part II) This hands-on workshop will cover more essential Microsoft Word skills, including margin settings, line spacing, inserting pictures, using the thesaurus and more! You should be comfortable using the mouse to attend this session. Attendance in “Word-The Basics” or Knowledge of Basic Windows Functions IS REQUIRED.

Introduction to the Internet (Part I) Using a hands-on approach, this workshop will introduce users to the Internet, including how the Internet works, basic terminology, using a browser, navigating the web and evaluating web sites. You should be comfortable using the mouse to attend this session. Working Knowledge of Basic Windows Functions IS REQUIRED.

Using Search Engines & Finding Information on the Web (Part II) Using a hands-on approach, this workshop will introduce users to Internet Directories and Search Engines. Includes tips on developing and conducting effective searches. Attendance in “Introduction to the Internet (Part I)” is recommended. Working Knowledge of Basic Windows Functions IS REQUIRED.
