Exhibits – 2007 Portsmouth On the MapMaps from our collection were on display for the 2007 season in our downstairs museum. They included a map of the Fort Butts Area, Portsmouth Water Works, Newtown Village, historic Portsmouth maps and current town land maps. Jim Garman, Portsmouth's local historian, presented "Historic Maps of Portsmouth : Much Can Be Learned". Jim shared maps from his personal collection along with discoveries that he learned using maps from 1835 through the 1920s. Those attending the opening were presented with a reproduction map suitable for framing of "Newtown, Portsmouth Village". The 8X10 map was digitally reproduced from a map in our collection. |
