Metamorphosis @ your library this Summer

It's easy to transform your summer!

1.        Pick up reading logs, read a book and write a quick review.  Turn in 6 reviews for a chance to win prizes at the end of the summer.  Read more than 6 and get more chances.

2.       Transform your world with on-line gaming on our laptops in our program room.  Join others and together rule the world!

3.       Transform stuff with various crafts over the summer.  Make wallets out of duct tape, make jewelry out of hardware, a catapult out of popsicle sticks or have your hand (temporarily) tattooed with henna in a mehndi demonstration.

4.       Transform a photo contest.  Take a photo and then change it digitally or decorate it.  Submit the photo for display and judging.  Prizes will be awarded.

Book Reviews By Teens for Teens

   Zane's TraceZane’s Trace  - Allan Wolf

I absolutely loved this book. Loved it. As in “I’d read it 20 times in a day” love it. The book follows a teenage boy as he travels to Zanesville, Ohio to kill himself at his mother’s grave. He meets a spunky girl names Libba along the way. Can she save Zane from despair?

Best Friends for Never - Lisi Harrison

Reviewed by Kelly K.

Best Friends for Never is the second novel in The Clique series.  Massie Block the queen of Westchester (or at least that's how everyone sees her) is having her annual Halloween party.  Her best friends, Kristen, Dylan, and Alicia, are also on the committee for the party.  They all want to be devils, but Claire's mom wants her to be on the committee with them, and she wants to be Power Puff Girls.  Of course Massie will never let that happen, because how embarrassing, right?  What if her maybe boyfriend Derek Harrington (or as the clique calls him, Darrington) would see her?  Relationship would soon be over.  and along with these problems Alicia's entirely annoying friend from the dance, Olivia, is hanging around with them too much.  Will the party turn out great or will it be horrible?  Will Massie and Darrington stay together?  Who knows, anything can happen in the clique.

Revenge of the Wannabes - Lisi Harrison

Reviewed by Kelly K.

Third times the charm!  Revenge of the Wannabes is the third book in the Clique series, by Lisi Harrison.  This book is the first one that is told in the point of view of Alicia.  She is one of the five people in the most popular group at Octavian Country Day School.  If you read the last book in the series called Best Friends for Never, you would know that Massie Block, the leader of the Pretty Committee, is mad at Alicia for switching the poll boxes in the uniform contest.  In this book, Alicia has decided to create her own Pretty Committee.  It consists of what Massie, Kristen, and Dylan would call LBR's (losers beyond repair).  There is Strawberry, who everyone thinks is weird, and a total Kristen wannabe.  This book is just as fun and intriguing as the other two.  Are Massie and Alicia going to become BFF's again?  Will she ever dump her new clique?  Find out in Revenge of the Wannabes.

P.S. Remember that in February of 2008, the newest Clique novel will be coming out.
